Over the course of my 20-year career studying, recruiting, and stewarding leaders through massive career change, I’ve witnessed over and over that true success comes from a combination of four elements (calling, connection, contribution, and control) which remove external and internal limits, and empower individuals to carve their own paths and use their work to live their best lives — what I term Consonance. Simply defined, consonance is when the “what” you do matches the “who” you are (or want to be).

I see the greatness in others and reflect it back on them in ways that help them get them unstuck. Because I am turned on by The Big Idea, I encourage people to think audaciously, motivating them to dream boldly and then act decisively. I am an instigator and a motivator, and I’ve never met a revolution I didn’t like.

In 2015, Laura sold that firm to the team who helped her build it, both because she was hungry for the next chapter and because she held an audacious dream of electing our nation’s first female president. Through her own commitment to give back, Laura has helped build a local Montessori school, co-founded a women’s philanthropic initiative, advised a start-up national women’s PAC, grew a citizen-leadership development program, and completed five charity-inspired marathons, projects emblematic of her passions and values.
